What do I need to form a company in Malaysia?

Requirements to form a company in Malaysia

  1. RM1 Paid Up Capital
    A minimum paid-up capital of RM1.00 only.
    If you are a non-Malaysian and intend to work in Malaysia, you may need to inject more than RM1.00 paid-up capital, depending on your specific needs and situation.

  2. One Shareholder
    A minimum of one (1) shareholder to subscribe to the share(s) of the company. If you are a non-Malaysian, you can be the 100% shareholder. However, if your company intends to operate in a specific industry that requires partial local shareholding, you will need to find an additional local shareholder.

  3. One Director
    A minimum of one (1) director who is at least 18 years of age and resides in Malaysia. If you are a non-Malaysian and do not have a residential address in Malaysia, you will need to find an additional local director to satisfy the legal requirement.

  4. Director NOT a Bankrupt or Convict
    The director is not bankrupt and has not been convicted and imprisoned for the past five years (we can provide the local nominee director service at a fee).

  5. Malaysian Registered Address
    Must have a registered address in Malaysia. It is standard practice in Malaysia to have the secretarial office as the registered office (Included as part of our company secretarial service).
